About Moosend

Moosend is cheap without feeling like a stripped-down newsletter sender.

Pro starts at $9 a month and includes unlimited marketing-email sends, automation workflows, segmentation, landing pages, forms, reporting, AI writing, SMTP access and five user seats. The price rises mainly with the number of subscribers you store.

There are 130-plus ready-made email templates, alongside automation recipes and templates for forms and landing pages.

The automation builder is the main reason to choose it over a basic newsletter platform. You can build workflows around subscriber activity, website behaviour and ecommerce events without moving onto another self-serve tier just to unlock multi-step sequences.

The 30-day trial is unusually generous too. No card is required, you can send unlimited emails to as many as 1,000 contacts, and the trial includes the email builder, AI Writer, segmentation, automations, landing pages and forms.

The public review picture is strong overall but not completely clean.

G2 currently puts Moosend at around 4.6/5 across more than 700 reviews. Capterra is also 4.6/5 from 195 reviews, with 4.5 for ease of use and 4.6 for customer service.

Trustpilot is the outlier at 2.6/5 from 84 reviews, with recent complaints covering auto-renewals, refunds, deliverability disputes and unresolved technical issues.

That's enough to warrant reading the terms and watching your renewal date, but not enough to erase the much larger body of positive software reviews elsewhere.

What we like

  • Moosend doesn't make a small list synonymous with a crippled product. The core automation, landing-page and segmentation tools are available on Pro from the lowest subscriber tier.
  • Unlimited campaign sends make the economics especially good for businesses that email frequently rather than once or twice a month.
  • The 30-day trial is unusually usable, with no card, unlimited sending to up to 1,000 contacts and enough functionality to build a real automation before deciding.
  • Its deliverability credentials are more substantial than the low price might suggest, including Certified Senders Alliance membership, M3AAWG participation and ISO 27001 auditing.

Where it falls short

  • Moosend's pricing is less "everything included" than its reputation suggests. Transactional email, dedicated IPs, SSO and several enterprise tools sit inside Moosend+.
  • The recent Trustpilot record is poor, particularly around billing, renewals and difficult support cases.
  • There is no permanent free tier, so businesses with very small or inactive lists may find EmailOctopus or another free newsletter platform more economical.
  • The template and native integration libraries are good enough rather than class-leading.
Our Verdict

Moosend offers an unusually strong amount of marketing automation for the price. Even small accounts get proper workflows, segmentation, landing pages and unlimited campaign sends without having to climb through several feature-gated plans. It isn't quite the "everything included" platform it once was, with transactional email, dedicated IPs and some enterprise controls now sitting in Moosend+. The mixed Trustpilot feedback around billing and support is also worth keeping in mind. Still, for businesses that want serious email automation without Mailchimp-style pricing, Moosend is one of the better-value options available. Use the 30-day trial with your real list first, and if it fits, annual billing plus Rewardio's 15% recurring lifetime cashback makes the economics particularly strong.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answering the questions we actually get about Moosend.

How does Moosend cashback work, and is it better than a Moosend promo code?
You don't need to find a permanent Moosend promo code to get the Rewardio saving. Start an eligible Moosend purchase through Rewardio and you'll receive 15% of qualifying payments back as real money for as long as your subscription remains eligible. The cashback can sit alongside Moosend's normal billing discounts because it's calculated from what you actually pay. Moosend currently discounts biannual subscriptions by 15% and annual subscriptions by 20%. So if you're staying for a year anyway, the sensible comparison isn't cashback versus annual billing. You can use both.
How much does Moosend cost in 2026?
The main self-serve plan is Pro, and the price depends on subscriber count. Current pricing starts at: 500 contacts: around $9/month 1,000 contacts: around $16/month 2,000 contacts: around $24/month 5,000 contacts: around $48/month 10,000 contacts: around $88/month 25,000 contacts: around $160/month 50,000 contacts: around $315/month Annual billing gives 20% off, while biannual billing saves 15%. Pro includes five team members. Larger and more specialised requirements can be handled through custom Moosend+ and Enterprise configurations.
Does Moosend have a free plan?
No permanent one. Moosend removed its old free tier and now offers a 30-day free trial. You don't need a credit card to start it, and the current trial includes unlimited campaign sends to up to 1,000 contacts alongside core features such as the email builder, AI Writer, automations, segmentation, landing pages and forms. That's enough time to test the software properly rather than merely clicking around a demo. If you specifically need a permanent free email plan, EmailOctopus is a better fit. If you need more sophisticated automation, Moosend is in a different class of product.
What actually determines my Moosend bill?
For Pro subscriptions, billing is based mainly on the number of unique active subscribers in your account. The same email address can exist in several mailing lists without being counted repeatedly. Once you're inside your subscriber allowance, marketing campaign sends are unlimited. That creates a useful incentive to keep the database clean. A subscriber who hasn't opened or clicked anything for years can still occupy space in your paid tier. Removing genuinely dead contacts can therefore improve engagement statistics and reduce the subscription bill at the same time.
Does Moosend really include every feature on Pro?
Not literally. This is where older reviews and marketing copy can be misleading. Pro includes most of the core marketing product: unlimited campaigns, automation, landing pages, subscription forms, the email editor, reporting, segmentation and SMTP access. Moosend+ is where the current pricing page places extras such as transactional email, dedicated IPs, SSO/SAML, custom dashboards, hosted files, Audience Discovery and additional team members. That's still considerably less feature gating than many competitors use, but it isn't accurate to say every Moosend feature is available for $9.
Can Moosend send transactional email?
Yes, Moosend has transactional-email infrastructure using SMTP and API, including order confirmations, receipts, password resets and other triggered messages. Its developer documentation was updated in 2026 and covers both methods. The confusing part is packaging. Moosend's current pricing page lists Transactional Emails as an add-on under Moosend+, even though other Moosend pages and documentation discuss transactional SMTP more broadly. If transactional sending is important to your business, I'd get confirmation from Moosend about the exact plan and volume you'll need before migrating.
What are Moosend pay-as-you-go credits?
They're a useful option if you don't email regularly enough to justify a subscription. Instead of paying each month for a fixed subscriber allowance, you buy email credits. One credit sends one email to one recipient. Moosend currently sells bundles including 350,000 credits for $350, 500,000 for $500 and larger packages. Most importantly, purchased credits don't expire. That makes them particularly useful for seasonal businesses, events and organisations that may send several large campaigns in one month and nothing for the next three.
Moosend vs Mailchimp, MailerLite and EmailOctopus, which should I pick?
Moosend's strength is the amount of automation you get without paying enterprise-style prices. Mailchimp has the larger ecosystem, broader brand recognition and more integrations, but its pricing structure spreads important functionality across several tiers and places sending limits against each contact plan. MailerLite is probably the closest comparison if simplicity and price matter. Its editor is polished, and it remains a strong choice for smaller newsletter-led businesses. EmailOctopus, which we also list on Rewardio, is the simpler option. It's excellent for straightforward newsletters and offers a generous permanent free plan, but its automation and ecommerce capabilities are much lighter. I'd think about it this way: If you mostly send newsletters, EmailOctopus is difficult to beat for simplicity. If you want good automation without moving into ActiveCampaign-style pricing, Moosend is compelling. If integrations and the size of the wider ecosystem matter more than price, Mailchimp still has an advantage.
Is Moosend legitimate?
Yes. Moosend was founded in 2011 and is now owned by Constant Contact, which acquired it from Sitecore in June 2025. Constant Contact said the acquisition was intended to strengthen its European presence and invest further in Moosend's product portfolio. Moosend also publishes a substantial security and compliance programme. It undergoes third-party audits against standards including ISO 27001, is a member of M3AAWG and holds Certified Senders Alliance certification. Its platform is hosted on AWS. Large organisations including Vogue, Domino's and WWF are also named customers or testimonial clients. The legitimate question isn't whether Moosend is a real email platform. It plainly is. The more useful question is whether its billing, support and compliance approach suits your business.
Why is Moosend rated much lower on Trustpilot than G2 and Capterra?
The gap is real. G2 currently puts Moosend at around 4.6/5 across more than 700 reviews, while Capterra has it at 4.6/5 from 195 reviews. Trustpilot is currently 2.6/5 from 84 reviews. Looking through the recent Trustpilot complaints, billing and renewal disputes come up repeatedly. There are also complaints around deliverability, unresolved bugs and account handling. At the same time, other recent reviewers specifically praise Moosend's technical support and ease of use. That tells me more than either headline score by itself. The software is widely liked. The billing and edge-case customer-service experience appears much more inconsistent. I'd diarise renewal dates, make sure the mailing list is clean before importing it and use the trial to talk to support before committing.
Is Moosend good for deliverability?
There are some reassuring signals. Moosend is a Certified Senders Alliance member and an active M3AAWG member, both of which require serious attention to authentication, abuse prevention and sender reputation. Its platform is also audited against ISO 27001 security standards. That doesn't mean every customer automatically gets good inbox placement. Your domain authentication, list quality, sending history, complaint rate and audience engagement still matter enormously. In fact, Moosend's relatively strict treatment of poor-quality imported lists is part of why some customers end up frustrated with its compliance team. No ESP can turn a bad list into good deliverability.
What are the real downsides of Moosend?
The main one in 2026 is the disconnect between the very good product ratings on software-review sites and the much rougher customer-service feedback on Trustpilot. I'd take the billing and auto-renewal complaints seriously. There is also no permanent free plan. Transactional email and several enterprise features are positioned behind Moosend+, so the $9 headline price shouldn't be interpreted as literally including everything Moosend sells. The integration ecosystem and 130-plus template library are respectable but smaller than the largest platforms. Support is available 24/5 through live chat and email, but there is no standard advertised phone-support route on Pro. And finally, Constant Contact has only owned Moosend since June 2025. There's no evidence of a negative product change simply because of that, but ownership changes are worth watching if you're committing your entire email operation to a platform.
When does my Rewardio cashback appear, and when can I withdraw it?
Moosend cashback should normally appear in your Rewardio account within around 24 hours of an eligible purchase. It becomes available to withdraw after Moosend confirms the transaction and the standard cashback hold has passed, usually within 30 to 60 days. Cashback is paid as real money and repeats on eligible payments for as long as the qualifying Moosend subscription remains active.
